IVCore
Logo

A personal project I worked on

for my new YouTube channel, IVCore using Illustrator.

Here's The Process:

A crucial step in creating a logo that many people miss is understanding what your goal for the brand is, and how you'll be incorporating that idea into the logo.

My goal for this channel is for not only people to enjoy the content I create, but to also learn from my tech ventures and have a relatable connection to me.

So, how did I come up with the final design?

I knew that I wanted to relate my real name to the logo, being the IV "4th" in my family, it only made sense to make a name based off of quad-core CPUs, a invention that was revolutionary for it's time that featured a whole 4 cores for processing.

I wanted to have some of the spirit of the logos of some of my favorite tech channels, I wanted it to be inspired by Linus Tech Tips, Bringus Stuidos, and META PCs Which all have a logo that is simple, but easily recognizable and iconic:

Linus Tech Tips

Bringus Studios

META PCs

Executing The Idea:

Now that I have an idea of what I want for my logo, it was time to get to work.

I first created a design using just the IV, it looked great! Heavy on the past-tense though, thanks adobe. So I just recreated it as best as I could from memory, and it ended up looking exactly how I wanted it to look.

I then added some half circles to round-out the design. the ring around the circle kind of made it look like the V was splitting a eclipse, which me and others thought was pretty cool.

I was pretty happy with this first design and thought it was perfect.

All that was left was to create the background. A solid shade of grey felt right.

So Here's The Result!:
